Deadline for submission: 15 October 2016, by 00:00 CET (GMT+1)
Location: UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna, Austria
Fully Funded !!
Overview:
United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO launched two different competitions for the youth from around the world.
In order to ensure a bright future for inclusive and sustainable development, it is vital to facilitate a close collaboration with today’s youth. It is the young generation’s creativity, innovation and dedication that our future will be built upon. Therefore, as part of UNIDO’s 50th Anniversary celebration, we are pleased to announce UNIDO’s two international Youth competitions: the Time Capsule Competition and the Research Paper Competition.
The Time Capsule Competition:
Target Group: People worldwide born between 1991 and 1998
Deadline for submission: 15 October 2016, by 00:00 CET (GMT+1)
UNIDO’s 50th Anniversary Time Capsule Competition is open to creative young people around the world (born between 1991 and 1998), who are interested in addressing the issue of sustainability for a more inclusive future.
The competition is organized by UNIDO, the UN specialized agency that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability, together with AIESEC, the global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential.
Contestants are required to submit a video message about their hopes, dreams and concerns with inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
The video, no longer than 60 seconds (related to the questions listed below), should be accompanied by a statement of up to 300 words outlining the ideas addressed in the video. All videos will be stored in a time capsule, which will be kept at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna and be re-opened in November 2030.
These are the questions that need to be addressed in the 60-second video message:
(1) How do you see the world in 2030 in the context of inclusive and sustainable industrial development and Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG9)?
(2) What are the main challenges we face today?
(3) How can we best address these problems?
The winners of the best videos will be rewarded with:

Hello. I am a Filipino student interested in the Time Capsule Competition. I have a question with regards to the video message that will be submitted. Will the video only feature the contestant talking about his insights or can it be an edited video with voice overs and occasional appearance of the contestant? Thank you in advance.
