University of Cambridge MPhil Scholarship for Developing Countries, 2017

Overview:

Two scholarship programmes have been generously established to support students from less developed and developing countries that are rich in biodiversity, to attend the MPhil in Conservation Leadership. The Miriam Rothschild Scholarship Programme in Conservation Leadership is generously supported by Arcadia. Additional scholarships are available as a result of support from another donor.

The number and size of the scholarships varies from full scholarships, to partial scholarships that cover specific aspects of the funding package required by students. Offers of scholarships will be made competitively based on: academic quality and the motivation and potential of candidates to become conservation leaders.

Eligibility:

Student from less developed and developing countries rich in biodiversity are eligible. They have to be graduate with leadership potential processing at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Good academic quality is required.

All applicants must provide with their application a 750 word statement entitled, “Why I would like to enroll in the MPhil in Conservation Leadership and how my background provides the relevant leadership experience for the course.” This should be submitted along with all other supporting documentation through the Graduate Admissions Office website.

Details of the University’s English Language requirements are shown on the Graduate Admissions website. It is not necessary to have met these requirements before making an application. However, those who are offered a place subject to certain conditions will need to meet their English Language requirements before they can be admitted. Applicants are encouraged to book their tests, and take any additional lessons, as early as possible. All applicants must have met the English language requirement by the end of July. Indeed, a number of applicants in previous years have lost prospective places and scholarship support because they left insufficient time to meet their English Language requirements. Applicants may find it useful to review and practice the IELTS/TOEFL test requirements information provided by the British Council.
